Brandon Aiyuk Releases New EP - Just doesn’t hit like the classics
In June, former NFL Wide Receiver Brandon Aiyuk posted to Instagram, stating he would be back on tour this fall. He said tickets could be purchased at www.commanders.com.
The post was funny coming from someone who not only is no longer in the NFL, but if he were to return, would be owned by the San Francisco 49ers until released or traded. Since then, Aiyuk has made numerous Instagram and YouTube posts, criticizing the 49ers, NFLPA, and his former agent.
On Saturday, Aiyuk returned to Instagram, playing a few of his hits, and introducing a few new songs that will surely drive the fans crazy.
In Aiyuk’s first post, he once again proclaimed his intentions to play for the Commanders, an organization that has shown no interest in trading for or signing him. Earlier this month, Aiyuk got into an Instagram feud with Commanders’ quarterback Jayden Daniels that resulted in the two athletes unfollowing each other.
Aiyuk’s second post was another classic. This one a shot at 49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan, one of the targets of a previous Aiyuk YouTube post.
The irony of this post is two fold. 1) In the only Super Bowl Aiyuk played in, he was wide open, uncovered in the play that would have given the 49ers an overtime Touchdown; proving he in fact does not draw the coverage. 2) Being the true Number 1 Receiver that draws a defense’s focus is what it takes to win a Super Bowl. The great ones find a way to do well anyways. Ask Super Bowl Champion and Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

This one’s fun, because Aiyuk is either claiming that ChatGPT is calling his statements “Cap” (People younger than me have informed me that “cap” means “lying”), or he was recently promoted to the rank of Captain. The latter means Aiyuk can look at Goodell and say “I’m the Captain now! I’m back in the NFL and I play for the Commanders.”
Reverse Uno Card. Aiyuk is retracting, or sarcastically retracting, a claim that is actually true…according to my ChatGPT anyways. No cap.
Aiyuk went on to make a few more posts that implied Super Bowl aspirations. Ultimately, that’s going to be hard for a receiver that’s not in the NFL and has made no meaningful steps toward returning.
