Well, this is awkward! Max Crosby UN-traded to the Baltimore Ravens. Yes, you can do that…apparently.
Sitting at a bar with my friends, enjoying the World Baseball Classic after helping Great Hall Tavern put up St. Patty’s Day Decorations (I am Irish, after all) and THIS SHIT HAPPENS.
I sneak away to another booth, and begin researching and writing because WHAT THE HELLY? A week ago the Raiders and Ravens agreed to a deal that was going to send two first round picks to the Raiders in exchange for Maxx Crosby, who (let’s be honest) wants the Hell off the Raiders. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini is reporting that the Ravens backed out of the trade due to Maxx Crosby failing a physical.
Yeah, I think we can all call bullshit on this one. 2 first round picks is a lot to give up for a player…but Maxx Crosby is one of the players in the league that easily could have commanded even more compensation. This doesn’t feel like a sale of damaged goods, nearly as much as a desperation move after losing seven players in the first day of free agency. Three of the players leaving the Ravens followed their former head coach to the Giants.
With the sudden massive exodus of players, did the Ravens suddenly realize they might need those first round picks? Three of the seven to leave were on the offensive side of the ball. The Ravens have one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Lamar Jackson - clearly they reevaluated what Maxx Crosby would mean to their 2026 Season.
With Crosby returning to the Raiders, other teams (Like the Cowboys) suddenly become potential new destinations for Crosby. It’s a hard to picture a Crosby/Raiders reunion now, especially after spending $280 million in the first two days of free agency, counting on Crosby being off of their books for 2026.
2026 NFL Offseason…Holy F…
