Good Cam Skattebo, Bad Cam Skattebo
Some people cannot be told what to do. Career be damned. Cam Skattebo is one of those people.
During a Fanatics Fest event in New York on Saturday, the Giants running back attempted a stunt that his trainers may not have approved of. While standing on stage, Skattebo lifted his pant leg, revealing the scars and marks from his recent leg surgery, repairing an open tibia fracture. Skattebo looked at the scars, shook his head, and then did a backflip, before immediately falling backwards, landing on his backside. Cam jumped right up and threw his arms up, amping up the audience.
On the bright side, Skattebo even attempting the flip, and mostly landing it, indicates he’s feeling better than he did when he suffered season ending injuries last season. On the flip side, backflips on hard stages are probably not an approved part of his recovery process.
Still, if Skattebo did whatever we wanted him to all the time, he wouldn’t be the goof that football fans fell in-love with during the 2025 season. Where will John Harbaugh draw the line, though? The Giants’ newest head coach surely wants his starting running back to be available to him through the season. Maybe we can limit the backflips to touchdown celebrations. Fair compromise, Cam?
