Caleb Williams Meets with Ben Johnson for HOW LONG?!
While appearing on Pardon My Take, Bears Quarterback Caleb Williams was asked about his in-season meetings with Head Coach Ben Johnson.
“During the season we meet every day.” Williams said. “(Those meetings) could be from 1.5 to 2.5 hours at the end of the night.”
Meeting with Ben Johnson for an hour and a half to two and a half hours a day could explain the Bears late game heroics in 2025. Caleb Williams not only has his head coach’s voice in the ears of his helmet before the play, but in his head during!
Later in the interview Williams spoke about some of the voices that are not in his head during the game, such as the “haters” who unfairly hold his completion percentage against him.
“I throw the ball away the most to try and keep us in advantageous positions because I know Coach will go for it on 4th down.” Williams said.
Williams also spoke of TV commentators that are too hard on him during their broadcasts. “Yeah, there’s reporters and analysts, and whatever you want to call them, that I remember and sometimes I shake their hand a little bit harder when I see them in person.”
Caleb Williams and the Bears will look to build on their 2025 success, ideally with a Super Bowl run in the looming season. The Bears went 11-6 enroute to an NFC North Title in 2025. They were eliminated by the Rams in a snowy, Divisional Round nailbiter.
