AJ Brown Has Breakup Energy — And Buffalo Should Be On The Phone
Howie Roseman's latest comments on AJ Brown has me suspicious...
OMG did you hear what Howie said about AJ?
Sorry — we’re in the gossip portion of the NFL offseason. Every player’s Instagram story is breaking news and every vague GM quote gets dissected like a new name in the Epstein Files.
“I think that from my perspective, we’re looking to improve in all areas, and you don’t do that by subtracting,” is what Howie Roseman said about AJ Brown.
That’s the right thing to say… but I also remember Pete Carroll saying, “We have no intention of trading Russell Wilson” about three weeks before he traded Russell Wilson.
So it’s fair to call GM answers a load of bullshit. Especially when they’re about a player whose relationship with the organization looks like it’s been on life support all season. In 2025 AJ Brown:
· told Fantasy Football owners to drop him,
· requested to be traded multiple times throughout the season,
· got into a sideline argument with Head Coach Nick Sirianni in the Wild Card loss to the 49ers.
The rumors are that AJ Brown was unhappy with his role on the Eagles where he had his lowest receiving yards and receptions since 2021. For Howie, it’s reasonable to want to keep a great wide receiver on your team – but if your offense isn’t utilizing him anyways, maybe the right trade could get the Eagles back into the Super Bowl. And the more I think about it, the more I love the idea of sending him to Buffalo.
The Bills offense would have greatly benefited from a top tier receiver this season, as Keon Coleman didn’t take the Sophomore Season leap General Manager Brandon Beane was hoping for. AJ Brown fills that need and would surely love catching passes from a top five quarterback in the NFL.
Brown doesn’t come cheap for Buffalo, however. The trade would likely involve at least one First Round pick, a second, and a sweetener (Maybe even Coleman since his upside is still high and he’s on a cheap rookie contract?) Maybe that feels steep, but if you’re Buffalo, you don’t trade for AJ Brown because it’s comfortable. You trade for him because you’re tired of losing in January.
Regardless of whether the Bills have the stomach for the trade or not, this situation has breakup energy.
Sirianni looks exhausted.
Roseman looks annoyed.
And AJ looks like a guy who already mentally packed his bags.
I’m planting the flag — AJ Brown will not be an Eagle next season.
